Upland Hunting Grouse, woodcock, partridge, pointing dogs, Gordon Setter. Tailored trips to match all clients needs and abilities. Frank Lepore has been hunting upland game birds for over half a century. He's taken quail, chukar, pheasant, and his favorites, the wild American woodcock and ruffed grouse. Old Ruff and Mr. Timberdoodle are plentiful and widespread in Maine and Frank, ably assisted by his Gordon Setter Lexington, knows when and where to find these wonderful birds. Lexe and Frank like working with the young and old alike, beginner and expert, and everyone in between. They take particular pride in teaching youth gun safety and effective hunting practices. Those of us who are older and physically challenged don't have to sit by the fire and read about hunting the autumn woods, we can go out with Frank along the numerous logging roads and trails while Lexe and Frank work the nearby wooded coverts for grouse and woodcock. The birds often flush and fly over or down the trails providing good shots. It's wonderful and many an old gunner's season can be extended for years. Frank also works with sporting camps and can tailor bird hunting trips to the wants of the client, including accommodations. Customized hunts, those that provide the sports with the very best experience, are rare, but Frank specializes in putting them together. He knows bird hunting and he's eager to please those who love and respect the outdoors as much as he does. King Montgomery, outdoors writer & photographer, columnist for The Maine Sportsman.
